During a major exam season, Taylor's University wanted to extend encouragement to students. Working with Mainstream Online Buzz (Agency), we proposed a campaign to send students "Booster Packs - Pizza Delivery!" to help encourage and motivate them in their studies.
I've designed a series of posts for Taylor's University's Facebook page for this campaign. I wanted to create a fun and "nonsensical" feel for the postings to alleviate the feeling of stress. Drawing inspirations and feels from memes, Rick and Morty, Simpsons, a few Japanese anime, comics, platform games, I refined the concept, illustration and idea into visuals. The idea is to have a character battling through waves of book invasion to deliver pizzas for students.
I've kept the character simple in lines, so it stands out from the chaotic happenings in its world.
Using main color palettes of primary colors, it is to give it a feeling of confidence, bold, determination, fearlessness. And more ratio in Yellow - for the fun, cheery aspect. Blue for the words, for easy reading (because majority in visuals are warm colors - the contrast moves your eyes there.) and to balance out the colors in the visuals.
I've kept the background to be in a cool yellow, as the main front components are in warmer tones - makes the front stand out.
It's a never ending battle happening in this chaotic world, but even in that, the character never gives up and is determined to deliver pizzas to students! I've given the character some weapons made out of pencil and eraser to fight off the books. The pizza box ship is another funny impromptu idea which happened when I thought ketchup and mustard bottle look like exhaust pipes.
